Novant Health is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider to join a busy, growing surgical practice of 5 physicians and 5 APPs in Asheville, NC. This position will assist in general and endocrine surgery as well as seeing pre- and post-surgery patients in the office. We are looking for a patient-focused, compassionate, caring, and honest provider. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys a care team approach, educating patients and is committed to the health and wellness of not only our patients but the communities from which they come. Our program focuses on patient care as well as team member care. Our team supports each other and welcomes personal and professional growth. We are looking for a provider who wants to grow and bring creative and innovative ways to care for our patients and grow our program. Experience with surgical assist preferred. RNFA certification required for NP's or ability to obtain by 12/31/2024. Call is 1 in 5 along with surgeon.
Our expert surgeons, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants work collaboratively to provide remarkable care to our operative and non-operative patients. The selected APP will be responsible for performing a variety of functions under the supervision of our surgeons.
Asheville is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Western North Carolina. It is an outdoor paradise with four distinct seasons. The community has a small-town charm with big amenities to enjoy. Education: Master's Degree required. Graduate of an NCCPA accredited physician assistant program.
Experience: One year of experience in surgery preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current PA license in appropriate state required. NCCPA, ACLS, DEA registry required.
Additional Skills Required: Ability to successfully complete generic and depart-specific skills validation and competency testing; Thorough knowledge of diagnosis, and pharmacology; Thorough skill in physical assessment and management of chronic illness; Communication skills, both verbal and written; general computer knowledge is preferred; ability to work independently, yet in collaboration when necessary. Ability to use problem-solving, decision making, creative and communication skills. Dedicated to patient rehabilitation and self-care.
