Job Summary

Novant Health is seeking a Behavioral Health Advance Practice Provider to work in the Emergency Department at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC.  This role will be primarily responsible for psychiatric assessments of individuals presenting to the emergency department.  You will engage with a multi-disciplinary treatment team to determine the most appropriate disposition for that individual. We are looking for a patient-focused, compassionate, caring, and honest provider who enjoys a care team approach, educating patients and is committed to the health and wellness of not only our patients but the communities from which they come. This position will work 7 days on/7 days off from 8a-7pm with a rotation inclusive of weekends and holidays. Experience working in an emergency department/ behavioral health urgent care setting and completing crisis assessments for children/adolescents and adults is preferred.

Qualifications

Education:Master's degree required. Either a graduate of an NCCPA accredited physician assistant program, or NP or post Master’s NP program required.

Experience: One to three years of Behavioral Health experience preferred. 

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current NP or PA required. Current BLS and Current DEA registry required.  CPI Certification within three months of hire preferred

Additional Skills Required: Ability to care for Behavioral Health age specific patients within the facility. Ability to work with management team and physicians; demonstrated customer service skills, interpersonal skills and communication skills.
